Dubai Desert Safari FAQ

Wear light, breathable clothing such as cotton t-shirts and long trousers, closed shoes or sandals, sunglasses and a cap. In winter (November to February) bring a light jacket because the desert gets cool after sunset. For quad bikes and buggies we provide helmets, goggles and face scarves.

No driving license is needed for ATV quad bikes; riders must be 16+ to drive alone. For self-drive dune buggies such as the Polaris RZR 1000cc and Can-Am Maverick, the driver must be 18+ and hold a valid car driving license from any country. Passengers do not need a license.

Yes. All tours are run by a DTCM licensed tour operator with trained safari drivers and fully insured 4x4 vehicles. Dune bashing is not recommended for pregnant women, guests with back or heart problems, or children under 3, but they can enjoy the camp with a smooth drive instead of dune bashing.

Yes. The buffet BBQ dinner includes a full range of vegetarian dishes alongside grilled chicken and lamb. Vegan, Jain and other dietary requirements can be arranged if you tell us at the time of booking.

You can pay in cash (AED) on pickup, or by Visa, Mastercard or Apple Pay. Prices exclude 5% VAT, and card machine payments carry a 3% surcharge. There are no hidden fees.

Yes. Free hotel pickup and drop-off is included from Dubai hotels and residences in shared 4x4 vehicles. Evening safari pickup is usually between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM and morning safari pickup between 5:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Private pickup is available for VIP packages.

October to April is the most comfortable season, with warm days and cool evenings. Safaris run all year; in summer (June to September) the evening safari is the best choice because temperatures drop after sunset.

Around 6 to 7 hours in total, including hotel pickup between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM and drop-off around 9:30 PM to 10 PM.

The evening safari includes the camp, live shows and BBQ dinner, so it is the complete experience. The morning safari is shorter and cooler, focused on dune bashing, sandboarding and sunrise views – ideal if your evenings are already planned.

Yes. Quad bike and dune buggy rides can be added to any desert safari. Book the Desert Safari with Quad Bike combo, or message us on WhatsApp to add a buggy.

No. Quad bike rides do not require a driving license. You must be 16 or older to drive; younger guests can ride as passengers.

Yes. Our quad bikes are automatic, you receive a full safety briefing, and a guide leads every ride at a pace that suits the group.

A 1 person quad is ridden solo. A 2 person quad has a passenger seat behind the driver, so two people share one bike for a lower price per head.

In the red dunes of Lahbab / Al Badayer, about 45 minutes from Downtown Dubai. Free hotel pickup is available, or you can drive to our desert base yourself.

Children aged 6 and above can ride as passengers in the 2 seater and 4 seater buggies with an adult driver.

The Polaris RZR 1000cc is powerful and very stable, great for most riders. The Can-Am Maverick X3 is turbocharged with race suspension for a more extreme ride.

No. All buggies are automatic, you get a full briefing, and the guide adjusts the pace and route to your experience level.

No advance payment is needed for most tours – you can pay in cash or by card on the day. For VIP, private and overnight packages, and during peak dates, we may ask for a small deposit to secure your booking.

Prices shown are before 5% VAT. Card machine payments carry an additional 3% charge. Cash payments in AED have no card charge.

Free pickup covers Dubai hotels and residences. Pickup from Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi is available for a small extra charge – message us for a quote.

If we cancel due to weather or safety reasons, you can choose a free reschedule or a full refund.
